Compromising Kessen by Rachel Van Dyken

I love Rachel Van Dyken’s writing, I don’t know why or how she does it but I do love her writing. There are even some times after I finish reading one of her books and I think about the plot and I can’t help but notice it’s not normally something I would have really liked, but her writing style just makes it impossible for me not to like her stories. This first thing I think of when I think about this book is how cute it was, how much I laughed out loud, and how awesome the secondary characters were in this novel. So I really love Kessen, she’s super smart, she’s driven to do well in her career, she has a love of historical romance novels, and just in general she is fun to read. She ends up having to go to London for a “season” to appease her father if she wants to one day take over the family business, so she goes, although she is totally not for it. Christian works for her dad, but more than that he is also a future duke, and his family goes back a very long time, so much so that the historical novels that Kessen loves so much are all based on Christian’s family. Christian is not so much a fan of Kessen on principle, he’s polite, but he already has an idea of what she is going to be like in his head, only it turns out he is completely wrong.
