Okay, truth. I love this book. I just do. I was not super enthusiastic about the blurb or the cover, but I like the idea of P.I.s and I liked that Cora was so invested in her investigation (or so it seemed from the blurb), so I figured why not, I’ll try it. I’m so glad I did, because I loved it. I picked it up when I couldn’t fall back asleep, though I’ll read two or three chapters and then go back to bed, didn’t work out, I read it from beginning to end in one sitting, and now I’m tired cause I didn’t get to sleep. No regrets though. Cora, our heroine, is lovely, and interesting, and has blue hair (my pink hair self loved that about her), and most interestingly, Cora is on pause. There no other way to explain it. I don’t like stories where the heroine is a virgin, it doesn’t read authentic to me, I’m sorry by when I read a romance and the girl 22-25 years old and a virgin, I don’t believe, you have to back it up with some kind of reasoning cause I just don’t by it. But with Cora, I did! When she was young, before 16 I believe, her brother was convicted of murder and rape of his ex-girlfriend.
