I adored this book, like seriously from beginning to end. There were so many “oh my god” moments and just such great pacing and characters that I not only couldn’t put it down but was seriously bummed out when the book ended. I have to admit I am fairly new to the whole motorcycle club thing, but after reading this book, it sealed my new found love for the whole theme. So when the book starts Sophie is in a tough spot. She had a baby with, well lets face it, the worlds biggest loser/jerk. I mean seriously she goes into labor at a party he dragged her two and is literally too drunk to drive her to the hospital. What kind of guy does that? That being said her time with Zach (the baby daddy) is over before the book really has a chance to get going. So now she’s a single mom trying to make ends meet, no child support, no help with childcare, and living off a waitress salary. After a seriously scary incident with her son, her whole life turns upside down when she has to accept help from Ruger (Zach’s step-brother and the only constant male figure in her son Noah’s life). I think what I liked most about Sophie is that she knows she has to do whatever it takes for her to provide a good life to her son, and in my opinion she’s a good mother.
