So I don’t think it’s a secret how much I love hockey romances, I don’t know why, but I totally do. And also a little known fact about me, I love me some Russians (although my first love will always be the Irish). So a hockey book that involves a Russian hockey player just sounds like it would be right up my alley. I have to say that I was a little torn about this book, I mean there were some serious plus sides to the novel and there were also some things I didn’t love, but in the end the book was a good read for me, so I went with a “liked it” rating. So I think I am going to start with the things I liked about the book. I loved the Russian aspect of the book. I don’t know if the author has some Russian culture/language background or if she just did a lot of research, but I have to say I really enjoyed reading about the culture, from the nicknames, to custom ways to greet people, and even learning that black bread is important. I have always loved Russian nicknames, so seeing so many in the book actually made me really happy (Sasha and Pasha being my favorite names). I liked the characters in this book in general, I mean they have good dynamics between each other.
