Can’t Stop Lovin’ You by Lynnette Austin

I’m a Texas girl at heart, so books that take place in Texas always perk my interest. This book appealed to me even more so because it took place in a small town, the whole idea of living in a small town in Texas where I could buy a ranch and ride horses and eat bbq is my absolute dream. Another element that appealed to me is the whole exes coming together in the same place and the potential for them to work something out again. I like a story with second chances. I liked Maggie as a character, she’s spunky, and she made a life for herself of her own making, and I really like that about her. I also like that her career is picking up in clothing design from something she taught herself to do, I like that even without a fancy education and the “traditional” way of getting ahead, she was able to do it with hard work and dedication. I also really liked how good she is to her family and friends, it says a lot about her character that after her grandmother died she moved in with her grandfather to be there for him instead of striking out on her own. Brawley is a decent hero in my opinion, although his name kind of drove me nuts.
