I liked the synopsis for this book, and when I started reading it I had high hopes for it, it just never seemed to come together for me. I also thought that this book read a lot more young adult then I was exciting and I tend to have a love hate relationship with young adult books, and I think that impacted part of the reason why this book just didn’t do it for me. So first things first, the biggest problem I had was that the book just read very disjointed. What I mean by that is that the transitions between chapters were very choppy, there wasn’t a lot of lead in in the new chapters, even when there was a time shift and scenery shift, it made it really hard for me to kind of immerse myself in the book, and had me losing patience with it. I think this disjointed feeling also made the book feel slower than it probably was. I didn’t really like the narrator all that much, and that’s kind of a necessity in a book like this. She was all the time doing things that I thought were more selfish or done without thinking things through then I would have liked, and it just made it difficult for me to pull for her.
