I spent a lot of time on islands when I was a kid, and man do I miss it sometimes, nothing like an afternoon rain, weather that never goes over the 80s, and oceans and rainforests for days. So to say that the setting of this book appealed to me might be a little bit on an understatement. Plus this book had a bit of a mystery going on in it, so I was more then ready to dig in and find out who the bad guy was, and what in the heck was going on. So our book starts out with both our main characters, Steph and Jake getting on the case of Steph’s maybe embezzling stepfather. Steph gets involved for personal reasons, like wanting her mother to get what should have been hers in the divorce rather then basically getting nothing from her stepdad. And Jake, who is a bounty hunter is looking for the information about where this embezzled money could have possibly gone and maybe getting it back. Of course neither of them know about each other, so where they meet, it’s all just attraction, of course until they figure out who the other person is. Can they trust each other? After all they are working for the same goals her, so doesn’t it make sense for them to work together?
