Twined Bond by Emma Hart

I have loved this series from the very beginning. I love the moments that make me laugh out loud, I love the moments of tenderness between Drake and Noelle, I love the times I’m sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next, and so much more. When I found out this book was going to be the last book in the series, I have to admit that I wasn’t excited about reading it, because honestly I don’t want this series to be over. But I buckled down and read it, and I have never been so happy to love Emma Hart as an author, I think she did the characters so proud, and at the end I felt sad that it was over but happy with the outcome (which honestly is rare for me when a series comes to an end). So much of this book is a spoiler, and I really think if you are a fan of the series, that you need to experience this book without knowing the spoilers ahead of times. So basically this is going to be a hard review to write because I don’t want to spoil anything. So if you have gotten this far in the series you know that Drake and Noelle are super solid at this point, they are engaged, and I couldn’t be happy for them. This book really brings them even closer together in more ways then one, which I loved. These two of […]

Burning Bond by Emma Hart

I absolutely am in love with this series. There is no way around that. That being said, I was more than a little apprehensive about this book, because it doesn’t follow the heroine we have all come to know and love, Noelle, but instead follows Bek, Noelle’s best friend and co-worker. Truth be told there has been quite a lot of build up coming to this book, is Bek with Jason, or does she like Brody? Well this is the book where all of those questions are answered. Since this is a mystery/suspense I won’t give many details about the plot line, but I’ll still try to explain why I loved the book. So I have always like Bek, she’s just as crazy as Noelle, she’s clearly one of the family, but she also balances our Noelle and vice versa. She’s also funnier then I thought she would be, but not in the same way that Noelle is, which was awesome cause I was kind of worried Bek was going to end up being Noelle 2.0. While Bek does manage to find herself in a scary situation after stumbling upon a rape victim and becoming a target herself of a crew of murders, Bek is a bit more, I think I would call it reserved when it comes to danger. She doesn’t go full force charging into the fray, but that’s not to say she backs away either. I liked that she soldiered on trying to get to the bottom […]

Twirled Bond by Emma Hart

I’ve made no secret how much I love this series, it is without a doubt one of my favorites, and I love how quickly they ahve been releasing (I am not patient when it comes to books I love). So when this book showed up on my Kindle I was super excited. This is not really a book that can be read without reading the other books in the series, I mean you would be able to follow the murder just find, but you would miss out on all the personal things that have happened relationship wise, so read the other books first, you won’t regret it. So I have to admit I was wondering what type of crime Emma was going to tackle next, and this one is just without a doubt a sad one. When the book starts its the 15th anniversary of a girl name Daniela disappearing from Holly Woods, she was in 9th grade and close friends with Noelle. And of course, pretty quickly a skeleton was recovered and everyone thinks it could be Daniela. I admit this crime I think hit me more than the ones in earlier novels. She was so young when she died, and Noelle has a real emotional connection to the case, and there are moments when everything is unfolding where everything just hits Noelle and you can tell its heartbreaking for her. The whole case was just really sad, Daniela was so young, and the family was so affected by […]

Tied Bond by Emma Hart

I think it’s fairly well known at the this point how much I completely, 100% love Emma Hart, but more specifically how much I love this series. I have been following along with this series from the very beginning and I can tell you one of my favorite things about it is watching how the relationship between Drake and Noelle have evolved. The great thing about this relationship is that it unfolds so organically, it starts out all lusty and then turns into something so much more real and more meaningful. As is common with this series, this book keeps it all in the family. Our dead guy used to be Drake’s stepdad, and guess who the number one suspect is in this murder, you guessed it, his mom! All this creates a big deviation from the norm with this book, Drake is not the cop on the case, in fact he’s barely even allowed in the building. Oh and Noelle and her family, oh well lets just say there are lines being drawn and feelings being seriously hurt between her and one of her brothers. I felt like this book actually went by a little bit faster then the other book, maybe the pacing was just a tad bit faster, but it made the book feel a little bit shorter, which I have to admit makes me a little bit sad. The mystery in this book was interesting, and I will fully admit I didn’t guess who the killer […]

Tied Bond Release Day!

Holly Woods is going to hell in a handbasket—but this time, Satanists aren’t to blame. Halloween is. Nonna doesn’t understand why there are skeletons and demons everywhere. Mom is threatening to stitch a devil into Nonna’s pillowcase if she doesn’t shut up. Bek is bumbling over a date with Jason, the handsome FBI agent who conveniently got himself relocated to Austin, and I… Well. I’m considering running away to a town without the crazies. Nothing new here. Everything is going smoothly—too smoothly—and I can’t shake the feeling that something is about to happen. Drake insists I’m being paranoid… But when a body turns up at the Holly Woods Halloween party, we have a whole lot more than a murderer to worry about. Because the prime suspect is his mom. And it’s my job to prove she’s innocent. (Tied Bond is the fourth full-length book in the Holly Woods Files series and does not stand alone.) Amazon US Amazon UK iBooks

Tethered Bond by Emma Hart

It’s no secret how much I love Emma Hart, she’s just a fantastic writer, and this particular series is I think my favorite of hers. Part of what I love about this series is that they really build on each other, I think you could probably get away with reading them as stand-alones, but you would be missing out on so much awesomeness. I love how much each one of these books makes me laugh as well as has me so emotionally invested in the characters that I am sad when they are sad, and scared when they are scared. So we pick up on this book pretty much where we left off in the previous one, Drake’s ex is back in town, and forcing her way in as much as she can to Drake’s life, and of course there is always some kind of murder mystery element going on. It’s time for the summer fair, which I suppose is one of Holly Woods biggest attractions, and of course something is amiss just in time for the event. I do have to say, that the mystery in this book, or rather the killings in this book are a bit more dark then before, this goes into serial killer territory. You can tell that this case is really taking a toll on the people who are involved in it, especially with everyone’s favorite heroine, Noelle. And like always, I do love Noelle. She still has that spark about her, she has […]

Tethered Bond Release Day!

Detective Drake Nash: hot, alpha, bossy, and… mine. Now, if someone could tell his ex that… I don’t care if the summer fayre is coming to Holly Woods and she’s on the planning committee. What I do care about is sugar-filled food, bright lights, late nights… and danger. The type that won’t come in the form of Nonna’s new cantankerous British parrot, Gio. (Please see the damage done to Mom’s new curtains.) Unfortunately, when the danger comes, it comes in the form of something Holly Woods has never seen. The town is rocked to its core, and once again, I’m in danger. Only this time, it isn’t because of my clients—this time, I’m in danger because of who I am… Because of my heritage. And despite the HWPD’s best efforts, the bodies keep on piling up. Drake’s determined to protect me. I’m determined that I can do it myself. Danger. Mystery. Darkness. Malice. It’ll be a miracle if any of us make it out of this with guns unfired, cupcakes still frosted, and hearts intact… AMAZON US *** AMAZON UK *** iBooks *** KOBO   It’s better for my sanity if I get this conversation with Nonna over and done with. Oh my fuck. I have to meet the parrot, too. Holy fuckballs. What if the colorful rat sides with her? Oh, who am I kidding? Of course it’s gonna side with Nonna. Shit. Clearly, I can be swayed by the desperation of my future sister-in-law. I’ve really gotta […]

Tangled Bond by Emma Hart

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I love Emma Hart. I love her writing and the chemistry she is able to create with her characters. I have to say, without a doubt though, that this series has got to be my favorite of this year, and definitely my favorite of Emma Hart’s work. It’s just the perfect mix between humor, heat, and mystery. So we meet Noelle again shortly after the events of book one, so basically she is avoiding Drake and the date she promised him and trying to find a replacement employee for “computers” that she lost in the last book. What I love about Noelle is that she is seriously hilarious, even in her day to day things, I mean she has this great point of view, and she says the funniest things and thinks the funniest things. She still has Nonna on her 24/7 about finding a man and getting married, and let’s face it Nonna is hilarious too. One of the great things about this book is there are some really good family moments in this book, and while I liked the family in the first book, by the second you really know them and love them. Drake is still so very Drake in this book, and oh how that is such a good thing. I love and adore Drake. He has to be kind of pushy in order to get Noelle to open up to the idea of the two of […]
