A Friendly Flirtation by Christine Warner

I read this second book in this series and I really, really enjoyed it, so when I saw the third book was coming out, I knew I was going to read it. I really am a fan of Christine Warner’s writing style, she just kind of pulls me in and before I know it hours have past and I have devoured the book. Another reason why this book appealed to me so much is that it also has the whole dating your best friends sister element to it, and honestly I love that storyline, without a doubt it’s one of my favorites in romance. So when the book starts we meet Al, she our nerdy little heroine, who is just looking to put herself out there. Only one problem, she kind of comes across as invisible to most people. So all she wants is a little bit of help figuring out how to put herself out there and finding someone to be with. As a reader, sometimes I like the whole “mold me and teach me” story, then again sometimes I don’t. I thought in this one it worked for the most part (although I have to admit there were a couple of points in the story where I felt like maybe Al didn’t need as much help as she thought she did). Now as for our hero in the story, we have our ever so reluctant Nick. He really doesn’t want to rock the boat with his best friend, […]

I love the whole friends to lovers storyline, and with this book I really liked the whole set up, the whole idea behind two people who really aren’t interested in being in a relationship so they fake being in one to keep people off their backs. I love the whole fake relationship thing, because often times people start out in something for show only, and when they aren’t paying attention it turns into something real. So Holly is a really interesting girl, at least in my opinion. She has this big family who have all these ideas about how she should be living her life, let me give you a hint, they want her to have a 9-5 job, find a nice guy to settle down with, and start having babies. Holly on the other hand has some very different ideas about what she wants her life to look like. She wants nothing even remotely close to commitment, and as for work, she wants to grow her own freelance business rather than work for someone else. What I like about her is she is a really nice person, and she is great to her family even though she disagrees with them, but what I like most is how hard she is willing to work for things she wants in life; even when things happen that really set back her plans, she never stops pushing forward. Roth was pretty interesting, he’s Holly’s neighbor, and the two of them get along like […]

How Forever Feels by Laura Drewry

I adore this series! I have had such a fun time reading the series and watching the women of this group fall in love. I have to admit that I was totally looking forward to reading Maya’s story. When the beginning of the series started, we were introduced to Maya, and all we really know about her and her situation is that she caught her husband cheating on her and lets just say he was a super jerk. So I wanted Maya’s story, I wanted to see her get her happy ending. And I have to say I am glad I had to wait for her to get her romance, she needed time to move on from the jerk that was her ex. But the fact that she falls for the guy who is her ex’s best friend, oh my gosh that just made it even better. One of the things that stuck out to me first right off the bat about this book is the dynamic between Jack and Maya. When Maya and Jack run into each other at a bar, they are just so adorable right off the bat. You can tell that the two of them really care about each other, and had an easy going friendship, even though they hadn’t really spoken in years, because of the break up between Maya and her ex. However, one of the most frustrating things about this book was how beholden Jack felt to Maya’s ex’s family. I mean he […]
