I read The Marriage Contract not that long ago, and I really did love it, it was a pretty awesome book, so when this book came my way I was excited to read it. This book has second chances and a baby in the mix, which always makes for some seriously heightened emotions. This is book three in the series, but it is without a doubt a stand alone, although I think you get to see characters from the other books in this one, so that might be a plus for people who followed the series. So when the book starts we meet our heroine, Hope, who is on her way back to her home town, the first time in over a decade, going to set up a scholarship to honor her brother. There is a lot of baggage for Hope when it comes to going back home, the place where her brother died, the same accident that killed her brother also took away her ability to run and be and athlete, and left her dealing with some level of pain for the rest of her life and some serious scarring (both emotionally and physically). I liked Hope a lot, she’s made a life for herself that she could be proud of and hasn’t let the tragedy in her life stop her.
