Avenge Me by Maisey Yates

Avenge Me is book one in the Fifth Avenue trilogy, and I was definitely looking forward to reading this book because I love a romance that has grand designs on revenge, what can I say I love the suspense that comes with revenge. So each book in the trilogy is written by a different author, so my comments about Maisey’s writing style may not carry over to the other books since I am not sure how different the writing styles are (just a heads up). So first I want to point out that I don’t particularly care for book with domination themes in them, it’s not cause I’m prudish or have some moral opposition to them, it’s just I find they are never written all that well, and they always make the woman out to be some kind of helpless flower. Maisey Yates is the absolute exception to this rule. She writes about control in a way that doesn’t make the woman out to be “just along for the ride” but rather an active participant in the experience, and I seriously appreciate that. Austin a good looking man who is rolling in dough, but also rolling in a lot of self-hatred and family drama. His father is to blame for the death of a friend of Austin’s, and it’s because of that death that Austin finally has a real picture about the kind of man his father really is.
