This is the second book in this series, so don’t read it (or this review) until you have read the first book first! That being said, I really had high hopes for this series, mostly because I really do love the authors writing, and I loved the series before this one. I didn’t fall in love with the first book in the way I had hoped for. But seeing as how it ended on a cliff hanger, I decided that I would reserve judgement until the story wrapped up once and for all. So when the book started I was really interested to see how Greer was going to deal with the bombshell that was dropped at the end of book one, (spoiler) Cav is her brother’s half brother! Needless to say she didn’t handle the news all that well. Which I understood. So she lets her brother take her away to deal with the basically betrayal by Cav, and what does she do, she gets on Twitter again. Honestly I felt like Greer acted a bit like a child sometimes. So when this book came my way, and I realized its a spin off of the series, I knew I wanted to read it as soon as possible. You don’t really get to know much about Greer in the first series, other than she is Creighton’s little sister who is also a lawyer, so this was your chance to really get to know her. Now, you don’t have to read the original series in order to enjoy this book, but I think you should, because Creighton does make quite a few appearances in this book and even though he is on the peripheral during the book he does play an important role. So the book starts with Greer having put out an internet ad after finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman, and lets just say the ad is definitely an attention getter and a a tad be crude (see the book blurb), ah the product of a drunk night. Needless to say the internet has blown up with the ad and Greer is suddenly at the center of attention and its not good attention. Ultimately this is basically the catalyst for her to really look at her life and realize she isn’t really doing what […]
