It is no secret how much I love me a hot hockey guy, I really just do, there is no way around it. I have read some of the books in this series, and I have to say I have enjoyed them from the beginning. What appealed to me most about this book though is how our heroine is the brand new general manager of a professional hockey team. I don’t know about you guys, but I love women in sports. I love sports (although baseball is my go to not hockey, in real life hockey bores me), and I love when women are passionate about sports. Needless to say this was something I was excited about reading. So Gray is our heroine (and I totally love her name too btw), and she starts off the book just getting her promotion. Just something about the whole hockey guy just really appeals to me, maybe it’s the attitude of hockey guys, who maybe just the writers who write hockey just really love it, but it works for me. I honestly think a lot of what appealed to me about this book had to do with the quality of the writing, and the reason why I say that is because I wasn’t completely sold on Alex as a character in the beginning, but the writing was just so captivating and Sutton was just so likable that I couldn’t put the book down. So when the book starts we have Alex, who lets face it is coming off a rather crappy reputation for fighting, and he is now in the position that he has to do whatever the front office tells him to or risk his employment. And one of the things they want him to do is get involved in an anti-drug campaign, which is how he ends up meeting Sutton. Even though Alex is kind of a brooding and rather moody guy early on, he definitely starts to come around, and meeting Sutton and being a part of her life really kind of helps him work through his own issues. I thought it was great the way the two of them interacted, I felt like neither one of them was dependent on each […]
