I am sometimes on the fence about books with BDSM, I generally like the mild to moderate, and only like the whole hardcore picture when it is really well written and more character driven then just focused on the sex. I would say this falls probably into the moderate category. I think what made me mostly interested in this book was that there was that there was a line in the synopsis about there being rivals in the mix, and I love when a good ex pops up and makes trouble. So Anya and Clint are the main characters in this story and the thing I don’t like the most about them is the same thing in both their cases. I really, sincerely have issues with people who are that self-conscious about things. I mean it wasn’t too over the top or anything, but both of them having self-conscious issues just didn’t work for me. And while I don’t mind a plus size woman in a romance book (truth be told I don’t mind any type of woman or man in a romance book) it bothers me when the main character talks about it or thinks about it all the time. But then again it’s a pretty authentic representation for I’m sure a lot of people, it just isn’t my total cup of tea.
