I remember really loving the first book in this series. I love the whole rock star theme, but what set this book apart for me is that it wasn’t just a woman falling for the famous rock star, she was so much more than that, she was just as musically talented and helped make the band even better than it was before. I really loved that they stood on equal footing, and more than that they had a great chemistry together, even though the tried to stay apart from each other for the sake of the band and their music, they just had this great magnetic pull that made for great chemistry. Needless to say I was really looking forward to this sequel. I didn’t love this book the same way that I loved the first one, but it was definitely a good read and a quality sequel to the series. I loved that their happily ever from the first book was tested, that real life got in the way of them. I loved that in this book it isn’t just some girl who randomly met a super famous musician and fell in love and ran off to live in the mansion. No, in this book, both Leila and Jack are talented in their own right, and Leila actually joins the band before they make it big, and helps them make it big. I loved that about this book. So like I said Leila is super talented, and she plays in a band at a bar when someone tells her about Jack’s back, Devil’s Lair, is looking for back-up singers and wants her to audition. She does, and she nails it (woo hoo to Aerosmith’s Dream On, which is playing while I write this review). She signs her contract and is suddenly in a band that has a record deal and is getting ready to start touring. What I loved about Leila is that she was more than willing to work for her dream, she knew what she wanted in life and she went for it, didn’t take the easy route or even have a back up plan, she just went for it. She’s a good friend, a good daughter, a great band member, and just a good person all around. There are some […]
