This is the second book I have read where the heroine is blind, I completely and fully loved the first one so when this one crossed my path I knew I had to read it. Part of what I love about having a main character be blind, is that the author inherently has to write better, I mean imagine having to describe something but without any of the visuals, its so compelling to me. The other thing that this book had going for it (at least for my preferences as a reader) is that this is a best friends little sister book, and that is my absolute favorite. I love forbidden romances, but this book had so much back history in it, that the forbidden element, for me at least, took a backseat to bringing the past into the present. Gen and Chance basically grew up together, Chance and Gen’s brother Walter were best friends, but the three of them hung out all the time, so basically Gen’s best friend was Chance. She grew up trusting him, and more than that appreciating him for not treating her the way that her family did, like she was somehow less because she was blind. Then one night changed it all and Chance disappeared from her life all together.
