The Shape of My Heart by Ann Aguirre

I like college books, especially when they involve two friends starting to develop feelings for one another, it’s always been one of my go to storylines for a good book. I also enjoyed the second book in this series, so I knew I was going to read this book as well. So when the book starts we meet Courtney and Max, and they are on the lookout for a new roommate. I loved the dynamic between the roommates (Angus included), they have such a great and easy banter, and it was easy to really like them all right off the bat. Courtney and Max seem to have a good friendship, but it’s not until Max tells her that his grandfather has died and wants her to come with him to face the family he has left behind, that their friendship becomes much deeper. I liked Courtney, she clearly marches to the beat of her own drum, and I really loved how much she stands up to her parents. I like that she is trying to find her own way, and is willing to take chances in order to figure out what she wants from her life. She has gone through some hard times when she was in high school, the death of her first love and some serious addiction issues that she fell into after her boyfriend died, so I was super impressed that she was able move forward with her life. I liked Max less then I liked Courtney. […]
