Complete Me by J. Kenner

I have reviewed the first two books in this series previously, and since this is book three I want to say up front that if you read any further this review will most likely contain spoilers for the first two books so either read at your own peril or read the first two books in this series first (you should, they are pretty good). So first things first the tone of this book is a bit more on the sad, heartbreaking side of things. Things just are not going right for Damien and Nikki, especially for Damien. Damien is facing some serious charges, and it definitely puts both Damien and Nikki through the ringer. This trial really puts Damien through a lot, including having to deal with keeping his secret past secret, something that seems like it is going to be hard to do, and dealing with the reality of his situation is of course not easy and stressful on him. I don’t think he handles it all that well, and it does create a lot of stress on the couple. The whole thing just makes the tone of the book very desperate and heartbreaking. As a reader you want things to turn out okay in the end for them, but in the meantime the book takes you on a series ride of uncertainty. While Damien is in bad shape during this book, you have to admit that Nikki has gone through a lot of growth in the past couple […]

As with all trilogies like this, I would suggestion you read the first book in the series before reading this review. I have to admit that there were times when I really liked this book and then there were times when I thought it was just okay. But this book just kind of stuck with me and I can’t help but decide that I did like it. This book picks up where the the last one left off, the contract that Nikki and Damien had entered into about the painting is finally over, only the two of them aren’t exactly willing to let each other go. After the events of the first book its understandable, the two of them have really opened up to each other about their pasts and their secrets, and when you find someone who understands you and gets what you have been through, well it’s easy to see why they wouldn’t want to let each other go. Once again the chemistry between these two is hot from the very beginning, they just kind of gravitate to each other. I thought the sex in the book was better at the beginning, but other that that I thought that aspect of the relationship was done really well. There is a lot going on in this book for the characters, the deal is over, which means it is back to real life for them. And real life is not always so pretty. There are issues with secrets and people […]

Indecent Proposal by Molly O’Keefe

So I’ve read some Molly O’Keefe in the past, and I enjoyed her writing style, so when the opportunity to review this book came up, I jumped on it. I have to say I seem to like the whole marriage of convenience storyline, yes, it may be predictable at times, but when done right, it can be very enjoyable for me. To stay with I want to talk about the beginning of the book. I have to say that the beginning of the book was stellar for me. I liked Ryan, I liked Harrison. I liked how they met, and their dynamic between each other when they met at the bar. I just liked the whole thing. And their chemistry was pretty awesome too, I thought the sex scene was well written and the whole thing read very nicely. Cut to oh my gosh, Ryan is knocked up, and oh year the guy who knocked her up is the same dude on the tv who everyone knows. I liked that Ryan was not about to go running to this famous one night stand to milk him out of cash, in fact she was against the whole cash for marriage deal. I loved that she used the money from the deal that she basically had no choice in to take care of her family, she didn’t keep the money for her. I loved that she’s brash and independent and says what’s on her mind. I was also super surprised, in the […]
