I don’t know what I was fully expecting out of this book, but honestly whatever I was expecting, the book was way better. I think I went into this thinking it was going to be more romantic comedy then anything else, mostly because that’s kind of how much online dating books tend to go, a lot of weird first dates, finally finding the right guy (although almost always not through the website) and some laughs and a HEA as the cherry on top. This book totally had some funny moments, don’t get me wrong, but I wouldn’t call the book a romantic comedy. I loved how the book started off, frankly Silver at a party throwing drinks at people is good way to both get a good laugh, and get good sense of her personality. Silver is sassy, sometimes combative, has a lot of guts, has great inner monologue, and she is just honestly fun to read and easy to like. As for the whole vampire element to this book, I have to say I like how it was handled. Vamps are out in the open, but it’s almost like nonchalant like, sure there are vampires out in the world, but they don’t require blood, and no one really fears them. That actually kind of worked for me, mostly because the vampires were more like people, they had the same traits they had when they were human, they just were stronger, maybe had an ability or two, and lived forever […]
