I’ll admit I was a little bit leery about picking up this book to read, I figured since it was so far into the series that I would be inundated with a bunch of characters that had already been established and it would be next to impossible to follow. I was super wrong, this book is easily a standalone, yes there were characters from the other books in this one, but they were truly support characters, and I appreciated that the focus was mostly on our two main characters. Truth be told when I first started reading urban fantasy/paranormal romance book it wasn’t the vamps that attracted me, it was shifters. There is just something about shifters that makes me happy. I was really intrigued by the blurb on this book, because Raven was turned against her will, it makes for some seriously emotional times, and I love that. Also I liked the idea because our lead guy being a lone wolf, which is a complication in of itself since wolves are pack animals by nature. So when we meet Raven, it’s beyond clear she is in a bad spot, I mean she is literally running away from her pack. But hey, after getting to know Raven’s pack over the course of the book, it is totally understandable why she would want to run as fast as she could in the opposite direction.
