I have to say right up front I was seriously worried when I started reading this book that I wasn’t going to like it, I did not like one of the characters at all, so much so that I wanted to shove the book in a corner and move on. That being said I am so happy that I kept reading, because this is one of the rare books where the author was able to turn me around on a character, and it was such a great turn around that I almost think it works better that I didn’t like her at first. So I’m going to start with Reece, because I liked him right off the bat. He carries a lot on his shoulders and has this idea in his head that he has to make sure his brothers are provided for, it all stems from when they were younger and their parents died, but still he has basically gone through life not really living because he has put this self-imposed responsibility on himself. There is one thing about him that I was super surprised about (and I don’t want to spoil it), but in most books with similar scenarios, it totally wouldn’t have worked for me but it worked here for some reason I can’t explain.
