This book should have been a home run for me, it was not. It really did seem to have everything going for it, I mean I was really excited about anything having to do with sports, especially if it had to do with baseball. I also really have a big time affection for workplace romance, I just love the whole you shouldn’t be getting down and dirty with the boss thing. I have to say right off the bat, I had some issues with this book. It did not feel organic to me in any way. I honestly felt like the characters talked in a way that normal people don’t actually speak to each other, and in some cases, act. The way these two meet, it made me not really want to continue on. But I pushed forward, I figured beginning aren’t always smooth, let’s keep giving it another chance. It didn’t work. Ethan was, I don’t know how to explain it, but he was not an attractive character to me at all. Sure he might have money and know how to look good in a suit, but he was not my dream guy, in any way. In the beginning especially he was like super jerk, and had a touch of the man-slainning going on, and there is nothing worse than a manslainer. Jenny was more likable.
