The synopsis really sold me on this book, and I was really excited to read it. I don’t normally like a lot of books that dominance as a theme, but when it’s done well I like them fine, but there has to be a plot underneath the steamy love scenes or it just isn’t worth it to me. I was happy to see that this book did have plot underneath the sex scenes, and overall the book was okay. I wish I had liked it more than I did, it just didn’t strike a cord, or maybe I just didn’t connect with the characters as much as I would have liked to. In no means was this a bad book, it was well written, but for whatever reason it just didn’t do it for me. So the book starts out hot and heavy, which is slightly jarring because I don’t have any emotional connection to the characters, and personally I like the build up because its where you get to make an emotional connection with the character, which I think would have helped out in the beginning. The beginning sex scenes actually last for quite some time, and then they just abruptly stop. Turns out real life came knocking at the door and Damien had to run out on Poppy without ever getting her name. Poppy is so pissed that she throws away the note with his name and number.
