I really liked this book, mostly because I love old cars, and I love people who don’t necessarily fit the mold that people expect from them. When Reid heads over to check out his car restorations new rival, he was so surprised to find that it was run by three women. Let’s face it, women aren’t generally known for being mechanics (although personally some of my favorite mechanics are women), but I thought that the way Reid reacted, the way he was impressed with the level of skill they had, how he took them serious, well it said a lot. So part of what I really liked about this book is that Reid and Rusty (our hero and heroine) are in the same business, and competing for business. What really worked for me is that it wasn’t dirty, like they didn’t ever try to sabotage the other, and more than that Reid really was impressed with the quality of her work, and Rusty was impressed with how Reid had built his business. They had this respect for each other’s work that was kind of awesome. While I do love a romance where the two people are warring, I think this book works because they weren’t in a contentious work situation. So Reid I really enjoyed.
