So I really love strong women in books, and I really like women who are musicians (don’t get me wrong I love the whole male rock star theme, but I love it when a woman is the rock star too). There were definitely elements of this book that I was a big fan of, and there were also elements of the book that made me go meh. I had a hard time deciding between 3 and 4 stars to be honest with you, but as always tie goes to the runner (I seriously need to lay off with the whole sports thing). Of the things I liked, I really liked the dynamic between Emme and Tom, I liked that they were so drawn to each other. But more than that I loved how respectful Tom was. He knew that she was apprehensive about starting anything, and so he was more that willing to wait for her to come to him. And he let her have that kind of control when it came to the bedroom too, which was also nice to read since so much has been made in recent times about men being the dominating control force between the sheets. What can I say I like it when you flip the script. The rest of Emme’s band outside of Tom… well they piss me off. Except Mo, he was cool people.
