Maybe This Christmas by Sarah Morgan

I have to admit I am a big fan of Christmas stories (as if you couldn’t already tell) and more than that I love the whole friends to lovers trope. I know that it’s done all the time, but for me there is nothing better than falling in love with the person who knows you the best and has always been there for you. So combine the those two things and then add in some athletic yumminess and I am a pretty happy camper. So Tyler has a lot going on in his world at the moment, he used to be a skiing champion, until and injury changed everything, and he went from being a world traveler at the top of his game, to going home and helping to run the family business (a nice winter hotel/ski resort). Oh and did I mention his daughter has come to live with him full time now. What I love about this book is that its clear that Brenna and Tyler both have feelings for each other, but for there own reasons haven’t gone through with making it anything more than that. I think what drew me to this book is that its without a doubt a second chance book, I love when exes show back up and people get a second chance at a relationship that didn’t work out. So the book starts and it is kind of hilarious, definitely made me laugh a little in the first scene. Rosie is being dumped by what I can only describe as a insecure jerk, he basically doesn’t want to date Rosie anymore because she’s not girly enough, and she makes him feel unmanly because she doesn’t need his protection. The whole thing is kind of ridiculous, if I remember correctly he even suggests she take up baking or something like that. To make matters worse, her ex boyfriend, the one who left her and crushed her heart is sitting the next table over and overhears the same thing. Oh and did I mention that when she makes her exit she is attacked by a couple of guys. Yeah totally not her night. You can’t really help but feel for her, and more than that be impressed by her ability to keep it together. I […]
