I have kind of a love/hate relationship with military books, sometimes the come off too cliche and don’t read as authentic but sometimes authors get it just right and then I really love them. I was happy to see that this book fell into the good category. I do want to mention that this book is quite heavy. If you are a military wife this book might be a little tough for you to read in places (as an army wife myself, it deals with a subject that can be hard to read for some). I really liked this book. Danielle is kind of an awesome character, and I think one of the best parts about this book is that you get to experience the whole romance of Nate and Danielle. I actually had a hard time deciding if I was going to be specific with what happens early on in the book, because I almost feel like it’s a spoiler, but then again I don’t think you can review the book without spilling the beans, so hear I am spilling the beans. Danielle and Nate have this great relationship, are totally in love, he enlists and goes to deploy. They get married right before he deploys. The unthinkable happens and he dies. At this point in the book I was totally heartbroken. The author does such a good job at making the reader really feel what Danielle was going through. It really is such a heartbreaking read.
