I had high hopes for this book, largely because I’m kind of a huge fan of the whole best friends little sister thing, and I love when two people have to hide their relationship from others. So when we meet Karlie and Holden things aren’t exactly what I would call romantic. There is an age gap between the two of them and while Karlie definitely has a thing for Holden, he is a bit on the stand offish side with her. Until of course we find out that it is because he is has a thing for her too. Karlie is young, and lives with her older brother, and to say she is babied by her older brother would probably be a huge understatement. In fact I had a big problem with the way that Karlie allows for the people in her life to baby her. She’s might be young, but she’s an adult, so I mean why would she allow her brother to continue treating her like she was a child. I did like that she did go for what she wanted with Holden though, I mean she clearly wanted him, and even though she knew that it was a situation that her brother would not approve of, she went for it anyways.
