I really liked the idea of a woman working in what is predominately a man’s field, so I was excited to start this book, especially since its a workplace romance, which is one of my favorite places for a romance to take place in. Unfortunately, this book didn’t work for me at all. First of all the book was super quick, like way to quick for any real character development. While it was easy to see how the two of them fell into a night of passion, developing the kinds of feelings that they had by the end of the book was honestly just unrealistic. Also Delaney’s parents are very set in their ways and opinions and while I without a doubt was hoping Delaney would have some kind of confrontation with them, the whole thing did not play out as believable. My second problem is with Delaney herself. She was not likable to me at all. I think maybe the author was trying to hard to make her into an independent woman, but the way that she asserted her independence just did not appeal to me at all. Right off the bat when we meet Delaney, she lies to her boss (not just her boss by the owner of the company), Aidan, in order to con her way onto this road trip.
