Take Me Back by Meghan March

I was super looking forward to this book, I love books where the main characters are already in a relationship, don’t get me wrong, I love a good meet cute as much as anyone, but when the relationship is already in place it has a tendency to be angsty and I love angst. This book is not at all short on the angst. So obviously the blurb sets it up with two people who have been married for two years and things aren’t going well, so they go on vacation to try and fix things in their marriage or to walk away. Normally it takes some time for me to feel an emotional connection with the characters in a book, I mean at least a fourth of the way through a book. But here, I felt something for Kat right away, she just seems so broken down, it was hard not to have your heart break a little bit reading about how desperate she was to get her husband back. It’s also really clear from the beginning that these two didn’t really do anything to each other, so there is no real bad guy here, more like life happened, and sometimes that means things get hard. It’s easy to relate to. Kat is not someone who deals with grief, and not long after her marriage starts grief struck, and she coped the only way she knew how to shut down and build walls. Her husband Dane, dealing with his own […]

Dirty Love by Meghan March

This is the second book in this series, so don’t read it (or this review) until you have read the first book first! That being said, I really had high hopes for this series, mostly because I really do love the authors writing, and I loved the series before this one. I didn’t fall in love with the first book in the way I had hoped for. But seeing as how it ended on a cliff hanger, I decided that I would reserve judgement until the story wrapped up once and for all. So when the book started I was really interested to see how Greer was going to deal with the bombshell that was dropped at the end of book one, (spoiler) Cav is her brother’s half brother! Needless to say she didn’t handle the news all that well. Which I understood. So she lets her brother take her away to deal with the basically betrayal by Cav, and what does she do, she gets on Twitter again. Honestly I felt like Greer acted a bit like a child sometimes. It was really infuriating to me in parts, I think it was meant to be funny to the reader, but it was kind of cringeworthy for me. But honestly, my biggest problem with Greer was that she felt like doormat to me. I mean here we have this guy Cav, who obviously she has feelings for, but he’s lied to her the entire time they have known each other. […]

Dirty Girl by Meghan March

So not to long ago, I came across The Dirty Billionaire series in the middle of the night, and over the course of a day I read all three books (I still need to review two of them), and I really loved reading the series. So when this book came my way, and I realized its a spin off of the series, I knew I wanted to read it as soon as possible. You don’t really get to know much about Greer in the first series, other than she is Creighton’s little sister who is also a lawyer, so this was your chance to really get to know her. Now, you don’t have to read the original series in order to enjoy this book, but I think you should, because Creighton does make quite a few appearances in this book and even though he is on the peripheral during the book he does play an important role. So the book starts with Greer having put out an internet ad after finding her boyfriend in bed with another woman, and lets just say the ad is definitely an attention getter and a a tad be crude (see the book blurb), ah the product of a drunk night. Needless to say the internet has blown up with the ad and Greer is suddenly at the center of attention and its not good attention. Ultimately this is basically the catalyst for her to really look at her life and realize she isn’t really doing what […]

Dirty Billionaire by Meghan March

I read about this book in an article online, or actually I think it was about the second book in the series, and it sounded really good, so I figured why not, I love a good billionaire romance. I don’t know what I was expecting when it came to this book, mostly because normally with billionaire romances, they heroine is kind of like an unknown person, whereas in this book you have an up and coming country star and a billionaire. Them both being in the public eye made for some interesting drama with the media. So I think in this book, Holly kind of stole the show for me, she’s the more developed of the two main characters. I think that’s mainly because Holly is a bit younger and bit unsure of herself, so in her POV there is a lot of second guessing and worrying going on, whereas when you get Creighton’s POV he’s much more self-assured and cocky, so you don’t necessarily get to learn about what really makes him tick (outside of winning all the time). Holly is a sweet girl in a tough spot. She is finding out a lot about how hard it is to start out in the music industry. She’s not in the best position with her label, who are trying to make her do things she wants no part of and are ultimately hurting her career. But she’s also not in any position to go up against the label. The great […]
