I have been looking for a secret baby book for a long time now, well one that I think actually works/plays out well. And truth be told this book had a lot of good recommendations out there, and I know Maya Banks is a well known author so I figured this would be a good place to start when looking for the secret baby theme. Truth be told, I am not sure how I feel about this book. I know I didn’t love it, but I also didn’t hate it either, in the end, I think for me, it was too easily forgettable and didn’t capture my attention the way I wanted it to. So the problem with secret baby books is that the heroine in question comes off as looking like the bad guy a lot of times, I mean what kind of woman intentionally keeps the father of her child away from the child. It’s always a shock to the guy, and it always makes sense that he would be super pissed. Unless of course the author is able to give the woman some kind of plausible reason why the guy never finds out (one night stand, guy moves away, that kind of thing). The biggest problem I had with this book was that Toni and Simon live together. She gets pregnant from a drunken night (on Simon’s part not hers) and he doesn’t remember.
