I love hockey books, I always have, I don’t know why but I totally do. I really always enjoy reading about hot guys on the ice. And I also love books that end up involving siblings, like when a girl dates her brothers best friend, or things like that, it always adds another element of drama, and what can I say I love the drama (doesn’t everyone). So when this book started I have to admit I was a little off put right from the beginning. I really wasn’t a huge fan of our heroine in the story, and totally understood her brothers reaction. So Lovey is our heroine (I really am not a fan of her name), and she has up and decided to move to Chicago and shack up with her brother while she decides to make it in the big city. Only she doesn’t give her brother any kind of heads up, fully expects him to take her in because he’s a famous hockey player and therefore has the ability too. I really thought she was super rude, all while doing it in the over the top cutesty kind of way, that kind of grated at my nerves. In her point of view she thinks/says things that sound totally ridiculous, like “Holy Cheese Wiz” and a lot of different cheese references when making exclamations, because you know, she’s from Wisconsin, so let’s just stereotype her into that archetype and cheese up (pun intended) her thought patterns.
