Before I Ever Met You by Karina Halle

If there was ever an author that I would super fan girl in front of it would be Karina Halle. Seriously, her and Rachel Vincent made me love reading again, and I can literally remember the exact moment when I fell in love with romance books, I was sitting in the guest bedroom of my moms house reading Love, In English listening to Ed Sheeran and I knew then that I would always been a romance book lover, seriously every time I hear Ed Sheeran I think back to Karina Halle. I love her darker books, don’t get me wrong, but I was really looking forward to this book because it kind of reminded me a little bit of the book that held a huge space in my heart for so long. We have the older guy, a kid is involved, kind of a family who doesn’t really understand our heroine, and a hero and heroine who are suddenly spending a lot of time together. Jackie is a single mom, and she’s a really good mom. She’s also pretty young, 25 years old with a 7 year old. I think she has been defining herself so much as a mom she hasn’t really ever gone outside of that role in a long time. She works so hard to make sure her son can everything he needs, and doesn’t think twice about going without. She left a bad situation to move back home with her parents and is trying to give […]

Veiled Release Blast!

From the New York Times bestselling author of The Lie and The Pact comes a new romance that will test your limits and leave you breathless. Death. It’s something that Ada Palomino has always known so well, having grown up in a house of horrors, surrounded by a family plagued by ghosts and demons and things that go bump in the night. But after the sudden and tragic death of her mother two years ago, death has never felt so personal. Or so close. Now eighteen, Ada is trying to move on with her life and the last month of summer holds nothing but sunshine and promises with her first year at a Portland design school just around the bend. That is until her increasingly violent and realistic dreams, dreams of other worlds, of portals and veils where her mother is tortured and souls bleed for mercy, start to blend into reality. Ada has to lean on her older sister, Perry, to try and make sense of it all but even then, she’s never felt more alone. Then there’s Jay. Tall, handsome and deeply mysterious, Jay would be just another stranger, a familiar face on the bus, if it wasn’t for the fact that Ada has met him before. Every night. In every single dream. And the more that Ada is drawn to him in both worlds, the more she’s in danger of losing everything. Including her heart. And her very soul.     BUY NOW EXCERPT

The Lie by Karina Halle

Full disclosure, I am 100% obsessed with Karina Halle, she’s written one of my all time favorite books so every time I see that she has a new book out, I always jump at the chance to read it. I’ve never been a huge fan of the whole teacher/student dynamic, but given who the author was I decided to go ahead and give this one a go. I am so glad I did, this book was everything I could have wanted in a book. So this is the sometimes incredibly painful, although sometimes incredibly wonderful relationship between Brigs and Natasha. So when the story starts and we meet our main characters, they are both in the process of getting their lives back together. Natasha is back at school trying for her graduate degree after taking a long break from, well, life. And Brigs is finally picking himself up off the ground and trying to move beyond his grief by getting into some kind of normal routine, eating regularly, going to work, working out, and basically just going through the movements. You see once upon a time Natasha and Brigs met and fell in love with each other only Brigs was married, and then the unthinkable happened, a car accident claimed the life of both his wife and his son. The result of the death was basically that these two people basically imploded and their relationship never stood a chance of living through the fallout. I liked both of the characters in […]
