The Wright Brother by K.A. Linde

I’m a big fan of K.A. Linde, I like her writing style, and the stories she tells, so this book was a forgone conclusion for me to buy. I was actually pretty excited about the whole dating a guy whose brother you already dated, I mean come on, we can all agree it’s like a recipe for disaster right? Sign me up, yes please. First and foremost can I just say I really liked Emery. I don’t know why exactly, I just know that from the moment the book started I liked her. I think it’s because she walked away from a life that wasn’t making her happy, and of course from a jerk boyfriend who was cheating on her. So Emery heads back home to figure out what is going to come next. I really liked her sister, who she moves in with and her best friend. So of course her best friend drags her to a wedding, a Wright wedding, and that’s where she meets Jensen. Oh Jensen. I can understand why Emery was apprehensive about going to the wedding and getting back involved with the Wright family, obviously one Wright in particular left some scars on her heart. During the For the Record series we are introduced to Brady’s whole family, including Clay and Andrea, who are the main characters in this book, and I have to admit that I always found Clay to be super interesting so I was really excited to get my hands on this book. Thankfully Clay did not disappoint. One of the best things about this book is that the whole thing is basically told from Clay’s POV, I haven’t read a ton of romances where everything is from the man’s perspective, but honestly I really enjoy it. Also I think Clay is really just a complex guy, so it was great to follow along with him. Clay has felt like he has lived in his brother’s shadow for pretty much his entire life, and really his life goals are just things he thinks his family wants for him, he really is seeking validation from them. But he is also a super cocky guy, who has basically had an open relationship with the same girl for 10 years. They even own a house together! But as they have aged, Andrea, has started to want more from Clay then just the hook up and companionship. And when something unexpected happens she really things there is going to be change […]
