I adored this book, like seriously adored it. Really didn’t want it to end. Was seriously bummed when it did. I loved Lux and Bash, they were great. I liked the thriller/mystery plot going on, I liked Lux’s friends, and I completely adored Lux’s brother. Normally I am not a fan of flashbacks, especially when they happen a lot in order to tell the story, so I was a little worried when I saw that a lot of the chapters were marked “then”, but it turns out I actually liked the way that the past was kind of unfolded to me slowly. So from the very beginning, you know that Lux and Bash were high school sweethearts, and for whatever reason Lux is forced to break up with Bash in a manner that has Bash both hating her and believing that their whole relationship was just some kind of sick joke she played on him. Once she ended things she packed up her entire life and moved, never to come back to their hometown. And so is the end of Bash and Lux… until like seven years later Lux works at a magazine (thing Cosmo) and it turns out Bash is the photographer for their huge 100 year anniversary issues.
