So I picked up this book because Violet, our heroine, intrigued me. I knew going into the book that she was in an accident and was taking time to herself to recover emotionally, in a small town, next door to a hot neighbor. I liked the idea of her trying to find her way back to who she is after a traumatic event and I liked the idea of a hot neighbor to watch. I have to admit this book ended up being so much more than I was prepared for, and I am not ashamed to admit that there were parts of this book that had me shedding a tear or two. So Violet lost her fiance in a car accident, a car accident that also left her with some serious scars. Violet is incredibly insecure about her new scars, especially because so many of the people in her life, keep comments about how beautiful she is, and someone that beauty had been tied into her success. I really liked Violet, she really made a journey throughout the book. Trying to figure out how to move on from the accident, how to accept who she is now, and really just trying to figure out who she really is in general. She has to deal with so much in this book, including her father having a serious illness and suddenly stepping into the role as CEO of their company long before anyone thought she would.
