Built to Last by Elisabeth Grace

Hooray for second chances! I have read Elisabeth Grace before, so I knew going into this book I would probably enjoy it. Another thing that worked for me in this book was that it was a REAL small town romance, where everyone knows everything and good luck keeping any kind of secrets. I don’t know why but I really like small town romances, I think it might have something to do with how it hypes up the drama when everyone is in your business. So when we start the story we get to meet our heroine first, and she is not in the best place. Scarlett is back in her hometown after her parents passed away and she is trying to make her dream of owning a bakery come true. As if it wasn’t hard enough dealing with her parents death, and the reality of the debt they left behind, her contractor basically scammed her, took her money, and did none of the work. So to say Scarlett was in a bit of bind when the book started would be an understatement. Now as for Scarlett, I liked her for the most part, although to be honest, she cried a little bit too much for my level of enjoyment. That being said, she is holding on to one particular secret, that let me tell you is a big one, and I fully understand where she is coming from, and why she kept it to herself for so long. I do […]

Indecision by Elisabeth Grace

This is by no means my first Elisabeth Grace book, I’ve actually read quite a few of her books, and I have enjoyed all of them. So I was looking forward to this book, especially because I love me a hot cop. I will say upfront this is a novella (which as I am sure you are aware at this point aren’t my favorite thing in world), but it does make for a quick read, so if you like novellas well you’re in luck. So I really liked Jackie. She certainly has some hang ups, I mean she doesn’t date cops, oh wait, she doesn’t date at all. She only does casual, and she is kind of a carefree girl just in general, she doesn’t even like to live in the same place for too long. After her father died, and her mother never moved on from the grief, Jackie just decided not to get investing in anything the way her mother had. I actually liked that about her, it made her evolution throughout the book more enjoyable to read, seeing how she felt with her feelings for Jamie. As for Jamie, I have mixed feelings about him. Honestly I struggled with him at the beginning of the book, to me, he felt like a creeper. I mean I liked me an alpha guy, especially one with a dirty mouth, but the way he acted and the things he said, just made my skin crawl. Thankfully in Chapter 11, it […]

Rumor Has It by Elisabeth Grace

Another book with a musician (I think I’m on a new obsession with musicians and motorcycle guys, but hey if it ain’t broke don’t fix it). So the big difference her for the musician theme is that the guy is not a rocker or a country star, no he’s a big deal in the hip-pop world, that’s right folks a rapper… sign me up! Okay so first things first, I love the way Mason and Ellie meet, I mean she’s literally climbing into the window of his rental house when she loses her skirt and he finds her a** up in his bathroom. No she isn’t some crazed fan, she works for the realtor company and thought the maid had locked the key inside the house, Mason wasn’t even suppose to be there. Definitely a great intro for me. So, things I like about Ellie. She’s smart. She’s super qualified. She’s a good person. She may have gotten some attention lately from a viral video, and while people might think less of her for the video, the fact of the matter is she was defending her own honor in the video, so mad props to her. She works hard. She doesn’t want money/attention/a job from anyone unless she has earned it. I loved that she was a strong woman. I loved that she didn’t know who the heck Mason was, and more than that, the first time in the car together she makes a comment that she doesn’t like the […]
