I not so secretly love all thing MC romance related, and this blurb doesn’t give too much away about the book, just that Zach is in an MC and a classy girl from the right side of the tracks shows up one night and of course they get together. I want to say upfront that this book is not a super hard MC book, if you are looking for dark and gritty MC, this is not your book. While it still is about a guy in an MC and he’s definitely rough around the edges, the book is kinda like a sweet MC, and I kind of really liked that. So most MC books I’ve read the guy is super involved in the Club and the author goes into a lot of storyline about the club and the things the club is involved with, which almost always gives it kind of a dangerous tone to it all. While I would say the author kind of hints at the fact that the MC is involved in maybe some less then lawful activity, there is no real MC storyline here, it’s all Zach and Grace, which was kinda nice for me. Zach is super confident, I almost think too confident. Grace walks into a bar on the seedy side of town, and MC bar, looking for a phone because he car broke down, and Zach is like convinced, I mean convinced, the whole thing is a rouse so she can hook up […]

Hold Me Until Forever by Christina Phillips

I read the second book in this series, and liked it, so it was an easy choice for me to pick up this book. This book apparently has a bit more of BDSM element to it, after all our hero owns a BDSM club, so I was mildly concerned. My big issue with these kinds of books is that they are often done quite poorly, but in this book I would call BDSM-lite. While Alex is a bit of a control freak, and they use some of the lingo, there is very little actually BDSM in this book. So if that’s a hang up for you, fear not, this book is safe. More about our hero, Alex. Alex has a tragic past, his father was abusive, and one night when he was quite young, he killed his father while his father was basically in the middle of trying to kill his brothers. I think its safe to say that anyone would be affecting by having something like that in their past. And it has resulted in Alex being unable to trust himself or others, and through this has spent his life trying to control every single aspect of life, all the time. He likes Ella, our heroine, but he doesn’t trust himself with her, so he avoids her. I feel bad for him, clearly he is messed up from his past, and while there are occasions in the book where he comes off as being commitment-phobic, the reality is he […]

Hold Me Until Morning by Christina Phillips

So I am a sucker for romances that involve a guy falling for his best friends younger sister. I love the whole inherently forbidden aspect of it, because nine times out of ten the couple in questions hides the relationship from everyone and it just makes it all the more exciting. The characters in this book definitely kept their relationship under wraps, but that had more to do with the fact that Paris is a Hollywood actress and she’s trying to escape from that world for a while. Sounded like to me that this book had all the right elements for me to enjoy it. Paris, our heroine, has been working on the same prime time soap since she was a young teenager, and at this point she has had enough. You can’t blame her for wanting a life outside of the glitz and glammer of it all, especially since there have been some real after effects from this way of life. I felt kind of sorry for Paris while reading this book, she has no idea who she can trust, she’s very isolated (even though she is surrounded by people all the time), and her mother has created an environment for her that is based on only letting people around her that can do something for her. Paris just wants to be normal, she just wants to have people in her life she can talk to. She was in no way expecting to be attracted to the guy her […]
