I’m starting to feel like I have a really big obsession with best friends sibling books, I mean seriously, I feel like I have gone out of my way to collect as many of them as I can. That being said, this book doesn’t necessarily read like that. Amelia and Dash meet when they were kids, Amelia was younger and she became fast friends with Dash’s sister, best friends actually. In high school the friendship started to grow apart, and they eventually went their own ways, so when the book starts, it doesn’t really have that best friends sibling vibe, because the best friends are best friends anymore. That being said, this book was totally without a doubt enjoyable for me, I like the emotional heartstrings that thing book pulled. Like I said, the future has arrived, and Dash and Amelia have a complicated past, Amelia was like super duper insane in love with Dash, but she was younger and so Dash didn’t really entertain her crush until after he went away to college. And then of course once the two of them come together and disaster strikes, Dash takes off and never looks back. So of course when Amelia finds out she is going to be interning under him at her dream animation job, well to say it’s tension filled would be an understatement. I like how unsure the two of them are about how to handle the situation. Yes it has been years since they have seen or […]

Heads up, this book is sad, or maybe sad isn’t the right word, but it for sure pulls on the heart strings pretty hard. So if you are looking for a cheery, upbeat, fun romance, walk away now. This book ain’t named Dear Agony for no reason. I love books with older guys, so I was super stoked when I realized this guy is definitely an older guy, woot woot. So we meet Rose when she is literally on the street just trying to make enough money to eat so she doesn’t have to dig through trash in order to find her next meal. I felt for her right from the beginning, I mean there is poor and then there is homeless and starving, so right from the beginning of the book I wanted Rose to find happy. She is approached by a woman who basically offers her the world, to get her healthy, educated, well cared for, and all she is has to do is be a companion to rich men. I know, I know what you’re thinking, but I promise she isn’t a prostitute. She’s literally just a companion, a friend, who lives in. Generally to the older crowd. Bash is looking for a companion, he’s a hot guy, takes great care of himself, super successful, there is a big age gap between him and Rose, but he wants her for his companion. And the reason, man, the reason, he’s got a health issue, and figures he wants […]
I’ve been really into cop books lately, like super into them. I don’t know something about a guy in uniform has seriously been working for me. So obviously with a title like, The Detective, I of course was going to pick up a copy of this book. So when the book starts off you are thrown right in the middle of everything, you’ve got cop Heath tangled up in the sheets with his mark, Jasmine, or is her name Jade. As it turns out Heath is assigned to find Jade and bring her back home, because wouldn’t you know, she’s a missing person. He wants to know why she left home and she isn’t talking, but he’s beyond determined to get to the bottom of it. Jasmine and Heath have this kind of push and pull relationship. Sometimes it worked for me and sometimes it didn’t. Jasmine has her secrets and I get that, and honestly I’m more on her side during this. But for Heath man oh man can this guy be pushy. I get that he has a job to do, but he is doing this job to get back and the guy Jasmine left behind. He’s so pushy to the point that I almost don’t like him. I mean he shows up everywhere. Joins the committees that she is on, eats where she works, etc. And then just when I think I’ve had enough the ex rolls into town and my opinion of Heath gets way better. […]
I had high hopes for this book, it seemed to have all the elements in it that I would normally love: hot athlete, coming home after a long time away, rekindled romances, and even a secret baby. However, I didn’t fall in love with it. I thought that the beginning of the book was pretty good, but as it continued on I started to get less and less invested. In the beginning you see Sierra coming back to her hometown that she left so suddenly years ago. A lot of things haunt her from how she left, but a family member passed away and she had to go back home to settle everything with the estate and everything. It was nice watching her come back home and see everyone she had left behind. Of course she very quickly runs into the guy who played a big part in her running away, Blake. In the beginning I liked Blake. I thought they had some strained interactions, mostly because you could tell that they still had old feelings just hovering at the surface. And then things took a turn for me. Sierra and Blake start rekindling things, and it’s nice, I liked it, however, Blake killed it for me. As soon as things start to get going again, he basically kind of demands that Sierra leave her whole life behind and move to be with him so they can be together. Which I guess kind of is romantic, but the way he […]

One of the best books I’ve read all year.” ~5 Star Review by Leigh Shen “Having never read R.B. before I wasn’t sure what I was in for and I am so glad I took a chance and read this book! It had a little bit of everything…steamy scenes, enough suspense to keep you guessing, characters that are well developed and you will fall in love with and, well, rock stars.” ~5 Star Amazon Review by Erin McFarland “Wow! This was my first read by this author and I’m impressed! Fractured Beat had a unique story line that sucked me right in! I didn’t want to put it down! I love any music/rock star book, but this one was about so much more than just […]
I’ve been a big fan of Tracy Wolff for quite some time, and every time a book comes by way with her name on it I always make sure to grab it. This is the first book I have read from her that was basically a romantic comedy, I don’t know if that’s because she has a co-author on this one, but either way this book definitely was a bunch of laughs at every turn. So when the book starts we have Lyric trying to catch a flight back home to Texas from Hawaii after finding out that her father had just had a heart attack. Which is basically how she ends up going through the TSA line in anything but travel wear, think corset, mini-dress, and big huge tall shoes. She almost missed her flight, but manages to get on board thanks to a helpful airport employee, only as she leaps onto the plan, her dress basically comes apart and she ends up basically naked. Enter the world’s funniest flight attendant, who promptly makes her a dress out of duct tape. And of course did I mention that the guy she used to be best friends with and in love with is on the flight too. The stuff in the air plane honestly was really funny, and it was nice to get a POV from both characters. Of course it gets even funnier once these two finally make it off the plane. I mean getting Lyric out of the […]
