Twined Bond by Emma Hart

I have loved this series from the very beginning. I love the moments that make me laugh out loud, I love the moments of tenderness between Drake and Noelle, I love the times I’m sitting on the edge of my seat waiting to see what happens next, and so much more. When I found out this book was going to be the last book in the series, I have to admit that I wasn’t excited about reading it, because honestly I don’t want this series to be over. But I buckled down and read it, and I have never been so happy to love Emma Hart as an author, I think she did the characters so proud, and at the end I felt sad that it was over but happy with the outcome (which honestly is rare for me when a series comes to an end). So much of this book is a spoiler, and I really think if you are a fan of the series, that you need to experience this book without knowing the spoilers ahead of times. So basically this is going to be a hard review to write because I don’t want to spoil anything. So if you have gotten this far in the series you know that Drake and Noelle are super solid at this point, they are engaged, and I couldn’t be happy for them. This book really brings them even closer together in more ways then one, which I loved. These two of […]

Burning Bond by Emma Hart

I absolutely am in love with this series. There is no way around that. That being said, I was more than a little apprehensive about this book, because it doesn’t follow the heroine we have all come to know and love, Noelle, but instead follows Bek, Noelle’s best friend and co-worker. Truth be told there has been quite a lot of build up coming to this book, is Bek with Jason, or does she like Brody? Well this is the book where all of those questions are answered. Since this is a mystery/suspense I won’t give many details about the plot line, but I’ll still try to explain why I loved the book. So I have always like Bek, she’s just as crazy as Noelle, she’s clearly one of the family, but she also balances our Noelle and vice versa. She’s also funnier then I thought she would be, but not in the same way that Noelle is, which was awesome cause I was kind of worried Bek was going to end up being Noelle 2.0. While Bek does manage to find herself in a scary situation after stumbling upon a rape victim and becoming a target herself of a crew of murders, Bek is a bit more, I think I would call it reserved when it comes to danger. She doesn’t go full force charging into the fray, but that’s not to say she backs away either. I liked that she soldiered on trying to get to the bottom […]

Vindicate by Beth Yarnall

Okay, truth. I love this book. I just do. I was not super enthusiastic about the blurb or the cover, but I like the idea of P.I.s and I liked that Cora was so invested in her investigation (or so it seemed from the blurb), so I figured why not, I’ll try it. I’m so glad I did, because I loved it. I picked it up when I couldn’t fall back asleep, though I’ll read two or three chapters and then go back to bed, didn’t work out, I read it from beginning to end in one sitting, and now I’m tired cause I didn’t get to sleep. No regrets though. Cora, our heroine, is lovely, and interesting, and has blue hair (my pink hair self loved that about her), and most interestingly, Cora is on pause. There no other way to explain it. I don’t like stories where the heroine is a virgin, it doesn’t read authentic to me, I’m sorry by when I read a romance and the girl 22-25 years old and a virgin, I don’t believe, you have to back it up with some kind of reasoning cause I just don’t by it. But with Cora, I did! When she was young, before 16 I believe, her brother was convicted of murder and rape of his ex-girlfriend. Cora has devoted her life, getting emancipated when she was 16, investigating, using all her money to try and free her brother, just everything about her world is about […]

Wrong by Jana Aston

I wish I could fully explain why I loved this book as much as I did, but seriously I really did love this book. I picked up this book because the blurb on the back basically explained that the girl has a big crush on an older guy who happens to end up being her doctor. I don’t know why, but this totally worked for me, also the cover is so great, I love the bold colors. I’m kind of addicted to the whole older man storyline, I love it in books, I wish it was done more often. So when you meet Sophie she is kind of a contradiction, she seems to be pretty mature on the outside, working her way through college, but on the other hand she is also a little bit on the naive side as well. She’s had a series of unfortunate relationships, and she finally thinks she is getting someone with this one guy, which of course means that it is time to make an appointment to go to the health clinic on campus. Enter the older guy she has a crush on, who also happens to be the guy who is going to examine her south of the border. That whole scene is kind of hilarious, and I loved it, I knew after reading that scene and how it all played out that I was going to really enjoy reading this book. Luke is our older guy, and I loved him. He’s just […]

The Unleashing by Shelly Laurenston

The Unleashing by Shelly Laurenston

I have to say a big thank you to Shelly Laurenston for writing this book, I have been wanting to read a good urban fantasy for a while now. Urban fantasy is really what got me back into reading and to launching review site, but I have been so romance focused lately I feel like I have been missing out. But when I try out new authors in the UF field I feel like they have been missing the mark. I picked The Unleashing for a couple of reasons, first I looked it up on a couple of review websites that I trust and they seemed to enjoy it, and secondly because I don’t think I have read a good Norse mythology book that I’ve totally fallen for before. I am so glad I picked this book. I loved it from beginning to end, and more than that it reminded me why I loved the genre in the first place. I really can’t wait to read the next book in this series.  So to begin the book starts off really strong in my opinion. Ker has just died and woken up in a house she doesn’t know and the action just starts right off the bat. Normally I don’t like action to start right away because I feel like I am missing out on something, but in this case the confusion of what was going on was shared by both the reader and the character. And at the beginning of […]
