Cammie:
It’s been ten years since I've seen him. Ten years. I have no idea what he’s doing, where he’s been or if he’s even still single. Have I thought about him over the years? Of course. Absolutely. But that doesn't mean anything, right? Just because you think about the boy you used to be in love with doesn't mean you’re still in love with them now. Does it?

Dalton:
I haven’t seen her in ten years. She’s the whole reason I’m even coming to this reunion. If it wasn't for her, I would have stayed home. I made mistakes back in high school. Hell, I was just a kid then. But I’m here to right my wrongs, tell her I’m sorry and win her back. She changed my whole life and she doesn't even know it. It’s time she knew.

photo synopsisgraphic.pngI can’t believe it but my 10 year high school reunion has come and gone, so when I read the synopsis of this book, I knew I wanted to read it, I mean these characters actually went to their reunion so I was pretty much on board right from the beginning. I loved the idea of having two people who knew each other in high school, people who both had feelings for each other, but never really worked out, giving things a second go round ten years later.

So when the book starts we have Cammie working at a radio station, when the radio hosts drag her into the booth to grill her about her 10 year reunion. The only thing is the hosts have no idea how the only reason why Cammie is going is so that she can see Dalton again, that is if he shows up. Cammie is a sweet girl, and she is just so easy to like. I mean she really is the whole girl next door persona, and she does it so genuinely that you just can’t help but want her to get her happily ever after. Cammie does have some serious heartache in her past that definitely comes to haunt her when it comes time for her to try and build a relationship with Dalton. That being said it was nice to watch her journey unfold. Also she has an awesome best friend, the kind of friend I wish every girl could have, she shows up whenever she is needed, sleeps over when her friend is in a bad way, and always calls Cammie on stuff when she is avoiding stuff. Hands down best best friend ever.

So Dalton is a pretty interesting guy, and he is definitely in a complex job situation. He too only wants to go to high school reunion because he wants to see Cammie again. She impacted his life in ways she doesn’t even know about, including why he went on to be a cop after high school. Dalton currently is an undercover cop, which of course is going to make things a little bit more complicated when it comes to giving a relationship with Cammie a try. I loved how patient Dalton was, and how overwhelmingly sweet he is. He also had a kind of adorable obsession with chocolate chip cookies. He’s a hot cop with a heart of gold, what more you want in a hero.

So the reason why I only went with three stars on this book and not four was the ending. For me everything just wrapped up a little to fast and easy, I think as a reader I like a little more drama and a little less sugar, but hey that’s just me. But if you like a sweet romance, then this might be the perfect book for you, either way I enjoyed it and will definitely be reading more of J. Sterling’s work in the future.

About J. Sterling

I got fired from my last job. It's true. I know you're sitting there thinking "Jenn, how could anyone in their right mind fire someone as amazing and awesome as you???" And i'd love to give you a good reason, but the truth is- being this awesome is clearly very scary to other less awesome people.

So I said screw them and started writing my first book. And you know what I realized? Writing books that mean something to me is a million times better than working for my ass off for someone who doesn't really care about anything other than the bottom line.

My soul feels more satisfied.
My heart, more full.

So thank you for reading, loving and recommending the stories I write.
I appreciate it more than you know. 🙂
