10 Questions with Jennie Martsby Jennie Marts

Earlier today I reviewed Hidden Away, a super cute romance that I highly recommend you check out, and now I have the author Jennie Marts here with us to do one of my favorite features, 10 Questions!
Q: What is the one thing you never leave the house without and why.

A: Chapstick and sunglasses. I sort of freak out if I don’t have either of those- like I might die of either sun stroke or chapped lips before I get home in an hour. But in my defense, the Colorado sunshine is brutal and the air is really dry.

Q: What is the number one item on your birthday wish list?

A: Usually it is jewelry of some sort. I LOVE jewelry- doesn’t have to be expensive. In fact, some of my favorite stuff is matching earring and necklace sets from Kohl’s. I love to accessorize and my family all knows that they are safe getting me any kind of jewelry. I also love books. And this year, I am asking for a pair of noise-cancelling headphones so I can work in Panera and not get distracted by eavesdropping on other patron’s conversations.

Q: What’s your biggest pet peeve?

A: Mean people, I guess. Life’s too short to be mean.

Q: What’s your favorite book?

A: Really? That’s sooo hard! My top favorite books would be the Stephanie Plum series, all of the Harry Potters, the Outlander series, Divine Secrets of the Ya-Ya Sisterhood, and Montana Sky by Nora Roberts.

Q: What’s your go to song to get your amped up?

A: My favorite song right now is Rachel Platten’s Fight Song- I love it! The songs that get me singing and dancing would be Country Girl Shake it for Me by Luke Bryan, Suspicious Minds by Dwight Yoakam, F-ing Perfect and/or So What by Pink, and I Gotta Feeling by Black Eyed Peas. Ha- that’s quite an eclectic list! But these songs are all on my work out playlist for the gym. 🙂

Q: You walk into a pet store, what animal would you bring home and why?

A: If you asked this question of my husband, he would say “All of them”. We have had guinea pigs, hamsters, fish, and gerbils but I drew the line at rats and a snake. Right now, we have a Golden Retriever named Cooper, a Sheltie named Maggie and 2 parakeets. So I would walk out of the pet store with a large bill and several big bags of dog food. 🙂

Q: If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go and why?

A: We are currently saving for our dream trip to Europe. I have always wanted to go, especially to Paris and Venice.

Q: What would you pick for your last meal?

A: My favorite food is Macaroni and Cheese. And pepperoni pizza. And Dairy Queen Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Blizzard. And Diet Coke. Would that be a weird meal??

Q: If you were a contestant on the show Survivor, what would your luxury item be?

A: Oh my gosh- Survivor is one of my most FAVORITE shows! I have seen every single episode and even have an official Survivor shirt. I think my luxury item would be chapstick or a journal and a pen.

Q: What are your best and worst qualities?

A: My best qualities would probably be that I am very optimist, almost always happy, I’m nice, and I have a good sense of humor. I have a big laugh, I’m kind of funny, and I like to make other people laugh. And I would say that one of my worst qualities is also one of my best qualities in that I am very tender-hearted and a little sensitive. So I get my feelings hurt easily and cry at everything but I am also extremely compassionate, do my best to not hurt other’s feelings, and I am a huge hugger. My worst quality is that I run five minutes late everywhere I go. Yeah- I’m one of those people. 🙂

And don’t forget to check out Hidden Away over at Goodreads or buy it on Amazon or from Entangled!
