Angel Bondesan can't decide if Nico Vitale is the worst or best thing to ever happen to her. But it doesn't matter.

Because it's over.

Back in the small town where she was kidnapped, Angel grieves for her father and tries to put her feelings for Nico behind her. Then she finds out that the Vitale family is under attack by the one man who scared her more than Nico. Drawn like a moth to a flame, Angel offers Nico her help only to have the person she loves most becomes a casualty of the raging turf war.

Now the only way to avert tragedy is to become part of the world -- and the man -- who might destroy her. From New York City to Miami to Los Angeles, Angel and Nico are on the run -- and their undeniable passion might be the most dangerous enemy of all.

Without a doubt this book is in no way shape a standalone, you just won’t appreciate it without all the backstory involved in it. So I really enjoyed reading the first book in this series, I think maybe I am a sucker for a mob story. And (spoiler) I was super bummed with the first book ended with Nico and Angel going their separate ways because of how her father died. But hey there was a sequel, therefore there must be a chance for them right? So sign me up, I am all for finding out what happens with Nico and Angel.

Angel’s whole world has pretty much turns completely upside down before this book started. I mean she went from being an average girl with a rich jerk of a father, to being kidnapped and finding out that her father is a mob boss in the middle of a big time feud with another mob family, the one who kidnapped her. Of course then she goes and falls for the guy (swoon, they are so cute together), and then he goes and kills her dad to save her life. Enter the end of the relationship. I felt so bad for Angel, I mean she just wants to be normal, but she can’t forget Nico and how much she fell for him in the short time they were together. And then of course, something brings him back into her life. Trouble is brewing for Nico’s family, and Angel can’t help herself but to put herself back in his circle. Only, this time her brother ends up being the one who gets kidnapped this time. I liked that Angel was strong, that she was assertive, and that she stood up to Nico, considering he is the strong, alpha kind of guy. But that being said, I felt like Angel got in the way A LOT. I mean she insists on being put into situations she really has no ability or need to be in, she ultimately just causes problems and it drove me absolutely BANANAS. Also it was kind of hard to believe that she was so worried about her brother, but at the same time was able to have the hot and steamy moments with Nico, it just didn’t read well for me.

Nico I liked. I mean I have liked him from the beginning. He may be in the mob, but he has some morals, and he really wants things run according to his set of morals and not by needless violence. He has to protect what is his in this book, and he also has to get Angel’s brother back. His organization is under attack, and he wants to make sure that he can get everything under control again. The only thing I didn’t like about Nico in this book was that he let Angel kind of get her way too much, even when it put himself and others at risk.

There is a lot a could say about this book, but I don’t want to ruin it for you guys, it’s one of those suspenseful, mystery books that I don’t want to ruin for you. The ending was just as hard for me as the ending of the first book, I swear I think Michelle St. James just likes playing with my emotions. While I definitely liked the first book more than with one, this one was good enough to make me want to know what is going to happen next, and I am looking forward to reading the third book in this series soon. If you like mob romances, you should check out this series.
