This book really appealed to me because the whole reality television show thing is kind of amusing to me, I mean sometimes I find myself being sucked into them and rooting for romance, and sometimes I think the people on them are just plain crazy. I don’t know what I was expecting going into this book, whether it was going to be sappy romance, or over the top dramatic, and it turns out I was pleasantly surprised with how funny this book was, but also how emotionally invested I got in the completely legit romance going on behind the scenes of an over the top reality tv show.

So Rochelle and Grant broke up a long time ago, and let’s just say it’s not exactly the best breakup, being in the same room with each other, well let’s just says it’s not going to give you the warm and fuzzies. So Rochelle wants off the dating show, but ends up making a deal with the producer to stay on the show in exchange for something she really needs (read it and you’ll understand). And well, Grant, basically he figures he is just going to keep her on the show and make her completely miserable until she quits. Let’s just say the antics get crazy from there.

I loved how Rochelle made the deal to stay, but basically according to the deal, if Grant didn’t pick her to continue the deal was still in tact, so of course her strategy was completely to be crazy and get Grant to kick her off the show. I mean she shows up looking ridiculous to events, the she says and does stuff that just seem ridiculous, and if it had been anyone other than her ex trying to stick it to her, they would have called the people from the funny farm to carry her away. Rochelle in general is just a nice person, and you can tell by the way she interacts with some of the other contestants on the show.

Now as for our hero Grant, I actually really liked him. I think he really wanted to be happy, to be in love, and then when you add Rochelle into the equation you could just tell, even from the beginning, that she was the one for him. And Rochelle isn’t the only one in on the antics, I mean there was one point with allergies that was hilarious. I really liked him and Rochelle together, they were one of those couples where their chemistry is just palpable. I have to admit it didn’t take long for me to start rooting for these two.

I almost always love romances where the author is able to make me laugh, and what made this book even better is that I was totally invested in the characters and the outcome. I loved how Anna Banks used the whole reality tv thing as a catalyst for getting these two back in the same room, I also think it helps appeal to all kinds of readers who already like those kinds of shows. So if you like the bachelor, love a second chance romance, or just in general like a good laugh with your romance, then this is easily a book I would recommend.
