Payton Vaughn’s trip to Puerto Vallarta for her friend's wedding was her big escape from her ridiculously overbearing mother–oh, and that little matter with her cheating fiancé. Now, her flight's been cancelled, and she's crammed into a tiny car with the gorgeous-but-irritating best man.

Viva la road trip from hell...

Cruz Sorensen doesn't have time to babysit some spoiled socialite, even if she is the future daughter-in-law of the man who could change the fortune of his family's company. He has no business getting to know her better—not even for all the tequila in Mexico...until they wake up with grande-sized hangovers as man and wife.

Now Payton and Cruz must decide if they've reached the end of their journey...or the beginning of a new adventure.

I love road trips! I don’t reasonably know why I like road trips, but really I just love the act of driving long distances, especially if it is me who is driving, the windows down, the music all the way up, man oh man it’s my idea of a good time. So when I realized this was a road trip combined with a love to hate storyline, with a side of jilted lover, I knew this was the book for me, without a doubt.

So when the book starts both Payton and Cruz are trying to get to a wedding, and right before they get on the plane Payton FaceTimes her fiance, only for it to be answered by a naked chick and his voice in the background. Talk about the wrong way to start a flight. Then there are mechanical problems with the plane and Cruz and Payton are stuck driving to Mexico in order to get to the wedding on time. So first things we notice when Payton and Cruz are together is they don’t exactly seem to like each other. But they have this great kind of banter that happens between them, that honestly is more about chemistry then hate. Plus when Payton tells Cruz about what happened between her and her now ex, he is actually a really stand up guy about it.

This book takes place over a short period of time, but man it packs the punches. This book has so many hilarious scenes, some heartbreaking scenes, and some seriously hot underneath the sheets time. I love how much both of our main character’s families played a role in the book. I mean Payton’s mom, man that woman is totally, certifiably crazy. She is for sure the mayor of Crazytown. And while she might be crazy, she makes for some seriously entertaining moment, and man did I want to smack some sense into that woman. Oh and Payton’s ex, oh my gosh, some of the things he says, you really just can’t believe someone can say such things and not really believe there is anything wrong with it.

I really loved reading this book, it was such a fun ride to be on, I think my favorite scenes are when the whole “accidental husband” thing comes into play, I mean anything with too much tequila almost always results in some fun reading times. I loved watching these two together, and them trying to find their way. There is a lot about this book that I loved, but I really think it is one of those books where you need to go in without a lot of prior info, it makes rolling with the punches all the more enjoyable. If you like love to hate romances, or oops we are married stories, then I think this is for sure a book for you.

About Ashlee Mallory

Ashlee was thirteen when she discovered her first Kathleen E. Woodiwiss book hidden away in her mom’s closet. After two days of staying home “sick” from school to finish it, she was hooked. Her rabid love for romance has continued ever since and after a misadventure in the world of law, she is finally settling into her dream job of writing about people finding their happily ever afters—the only stories worth reading, after all.

Ashlee lives in the greater Salt Lake Valley in Utah with her sweetie, two fabulous kids, and a dog and cat that vie equally for her attention. Sometimes by sitting on her computer when she’s trying to work. And although surrounded by picturesque mountains and beautiful landscapes, she’s practically allergic to direct sunlight, the outdoors, and anything that involves communing with nature. Give her a book, an abundance of coffee, and a shady (enclosed) spot with a view and she’s happy.

Whether writing contemporary romances or romances with mystery and suspense, Ashlee aims to create down to earth heroines and heroes that will make you laugh and fall in love all over again.
