Police officer Maggie Sinclair prides herself on her independence. She doesn't need anyone, especially her ex-lover. Working undercover to expose a prostitution ring, Maggie rescues two teenaged girls—but blows her cover in the process. Now she's in deep, and the only person who can help her is the last man she wants to call...
Detective Quinn McQuade remembers Maggie telling him Hell would freeze over before she needed him. He offered her everything, and she rejected him. Now he has the opportunity to show Maggie they're stronger as a team—even as their attraction becomes increasingly hotter. But this passion won't just bring them together or tear them apart...it could get them both killed.
We haven’t done one of these in a while, but I’m bringing it back, because it was one of my favorite features on H.L.B.
Today we have Rosie Miles joining us and answering the 10 questions today is Maggie Sinclair from her book, Never Surrender, and you can read the review of the book here. So without further ado, here’s Maggie!
Q: What is the one thing you never leave the house without and why.
A: I never leave home without my “to do” list. I live such a busy life and it helps keep me on track.
Q: What is the number one item on your birthday wish list?
A: I love a good pamper. So, I’d say, a day at a health spa, you know, have a massage and a facial, and then for a special treatment, a pedicure. Absolute bliss.
Q: What’s your biggest pet peeve?
A: When someone leaves a dribble of milk in the bottle rather than finish it then throw the empty into the rubbish.
Q: What’s your favorite book?
A: Old Man’s War by John Scalzi. It’s the first book of a series. I love a series.
Q: What’s your go to song to get you amped up?
A: Superwoman, by Alicia Keys. The first time I heard that song, I cried. I was competing in a 10K run a couple of weeks back, there was about 1K to go and my legs were beginning to seize. I really thought I was going to stop, then, Superwoman came up randomly onto my iPod, it lifted me and I ran my best time. It’s such a powerful song.
Q: You walk into a pet store, what animal would you bring home and why?
A: Honestly, I cross the road to avoid pet shops. Don’t get me wrong, I love animals, especially dogs, but I’m not ready to have a pet. So, rather than torment myself, I give them a wide berth.
Q: If you could vacation anywhere, where would you go and why?
A: My grandparents were from Scotland. They talks about the highlands, the lochness monster, they made it sound like a magical place, so I’d say Scotland.
Q: What would you pick for your last meal?
A: Something that takes a long, long time to eat.
Q: If you were a contestant on the show Survivor, what would your luxury item be?
Q: What are your best and worst qualities?
A: My best quality, tenacity. My worst, I always have to have the last word.
