Eighty seven billion dollars.
One dead New York business mogul.
No heirs.
No wives.
No relatives.
Eighty seven billion dollars.
Not hers yet.
He doesn’t deserve them.
He doesn’t know what to do with them.
She does.
She always has.
Eighty seven billion dollars.
He’s overwhelmed.
She’s prepared.
That will should have had her name.
Not his.
Eighty seven billion dollars.
His looks are a bonus.
Her looks are her weapon.
He’s fighting a losing battle against his heart.
He doesn’t know it yet.
Eighty seven billion dollars.
She gets everything she wants.
He’s what she wants.
Love has nothing to do with it.
To get to where you’re going, sometimes you need to step on a few people to get there.
Good thing her heels are sharp.

So I have to say first and foremost the description of this book was so confusing, but in such a good way. I mean you know going into the book that it has something to do with more money then I could ever imagine, but little else. I mean you know someone died, and left someone a lot of money, and someone is clearly not happy about the outcome, but isn’t that always how it is when someone with money dies? Needless to say i was interested to see where this book was going. I have ready that the author things to reader should go in as blind as possible to the book, and I have to say for the most part I do agree, it helps make the book more impactful, but it also makes it kind of hard to review. So while I am going to do my best not to give too much away, if you want to be completely surprised abandon this review now, you have been warned.

So I have to admit the book kind of started off a little bit slow for me. We start off right when someone has died and all the planning and events that happen after someone passes away. Normally I don’t really like when a book starts up slow, but I think it kind of worked for this book, because the subject matter didn’t warrant a fast pace, and when the book did pick up (and it does in a big way) it made it more exciting.

It’s hard to say too much about the characters without making it not as exciting for the reader, so I am going to try my best. I would say the two main characters in this story are Cedar and Ellis, and honestly I had a hard time liking either of them. These two really don’t get classified as heroine and hero in my book. More like the complete opposite. While it is hard to say anyone would really like these characters, they do make for a compelling story, its kind of like one of those train wreck situations you can’t help but stare.

All in all I thought this story was both interesting and unique, the author definitely took some risks. I enjoyed reading the book, and it was a short read for me. I think if you are looking for a book that isn’t your standard everyday book then this might be a book you want to check out.

About KK Hendin

KK Hendin’s real life ambition is to become a pink fluffy unicorn who dances with rainbows. But the schooling for that is all sorts of complicated, so until that gets sorted out, she’ll just write. Preferably things with angst and love. And things that require chocolate. She’s the author of the NA contemporaries HEART BREATHS and ONLY THE GOOD DIE YOUNG.

THIS MUCH SPACE is the second book in her new series, TWELVE BEATS IN A BAR.
