As heiress to a media empire Alessandra Sinclair was raised to put family obligations first. But everything changes the night her first love walks back into her life and turns her whole world upside down. Haunted by the memories of a secret romance with a boy from the wrong side of the tracks, she can't seem to get Hudson Chase out of her mind. Once again torn between two worlds, Allie must decide how much she’s willing to risk to have the love she’s always longed for.

Ten years is a long time to wait, but billionaire Hudson Chase didn’t become CEO of one of the country’s fastest growing companies by giving up on what he wants. Now that he’s got Allie in his sights again, he’s determined to make her regret breaking his heart. And this time, he’s going to make damn sure he’s not so easy to forget.

It’s no secret I love a second chance romance, especially when the two people were together when they were teenagers, what can I say I am sucker for first love situations, I mean who isn’t. Also I love the whole forbidden romance elements, which was going on during their first try at a relationship and in this second chance as well. It was without a doubt a book right up my alley.

So Allie and Hudson were together once when they were much younger, like 10 years in the past. Allie comes from a prestigious family and Hudson, well Hudson doesn’t. So Allie keeps their relationship secret and sneaks out to see him. There is a misunderstanding at the end of their time together, but their time together was never meant for the long term, so they went their separate ways. Hudson went on to live a harder life and Allie went on living in her world of the upper class.

Thankfully Allie is pretty grounded, in fact from what I can tell in this book Allie isn’t impressed with all the rich people around her or the gossip or what is expected of her. She wants to live her life, work at the job she loves, and make a difference, not end up being some trophy wife who plays doubles tennis with a bunch of gossiping rich girls. Honestly, Allie is my kind of girl, I would want to be friends with her, and I loved her friend Harper. Down side to Allie is that she is engaged to the world’s biggest jerk, and his a French jerk (which bums me out because I love the French, but hey every country has a few bad seeds so that’s what we will call Julian, a bad seed).

Now on to our hero, Hudson, who is very much the alpha guy in this book. And I like that about him. Sometimes when you have a powerful kind of dominate guy it’s too much and it feels like he is too pushy, but in this book it was just the right amount. I liked that he is a good brother and a savvy business guy. I liked that he was willing to overlook things with his past with Allie and move forward. I know a lot of people aren’t going to enjoy the whole Allie and Hudson thing because Allie is engaged, but honestly when you get to know Julian and then you get to know Hudson, I don’t think anyone is going to have a problem with (especially the more you get to know Julian the more you really how horrible he really is).

Don’t expect to get your happily ever after in this book, but that’s perfectly okay, and honestly makes me even more excited for the next book in the series. I really did enjoy the ride on this book, the pacing was great, the chemistry between Hudson and Allie was awesome, and there were just a lot of little elements that kept drawing me in. Great start to the series, highly recommended.
