When reserved flight attendant Bianca gets one look at billionaire hotel owner James Cavendish, she loses all of her hard-won composure. For a girl who can easily juggle a tray of champagne flutes at 35,000 feet in three inch heels, she finds herself shockingly weak-kneed from their first encounter. The normally unruffled Bianca can't seem to look away from his electrifying turquoise gaze. They hold a challenge, and a promise, that she finds impossible to resist, and she is a girl who is used to saying no and meaning it.
Bianca is accustomed to dealing with supermodels and movie stars in her job as a first class flight attendant, but James Cavendish puts them all to shame in the looks department. If only it were just his looks that she found so irresistible about the intimidating man, Bianca could have ignored his attentions. But what tempts her like never before is the dominant pull he seems to have over her from the moment they meet, and the promise of pleasure, and pain, that she reads in his eyes.
So I picked up this book after reading a couple of millionaire hero trilogy type books, and I totally wanted more so after a lot of searching I found this series and I have to say that I am happy that I did. Plus, I know I might be a minority opinion on this one, but I love flying. When I was a kid my parents starting me flying across the country by myself when I was five, in fact for several years my favorite place was O’Hare airport, so I was more than happy to find that this book has some seriously heavy ties to planes, airports, and flight attendants.
Bianca is the aforementioned flight attendant, and she works in first class, enter the devilishly handsome James Cavendish (although I did find it slightly annoying how often she actually calls him Mr. Cavendish, I don’t know if it’s his last name that bugs me or that she calls him that). Bianca comes as a sort of package deal with her best friend, Stephan, if I remember correctly they even bought houses right next door to each other so they would never have to be apart. I loved their relationship dynamic, especially since Bianca has kind of closed herself off, whereas Stephan encourages her to get out of her shell a bit more and experience more of her life rather than just going through the motions.
James is a pretty interesting character. Both he and Bianca have some issues from their past that they are carrying with them, but I don’t want to spoil anything so that’s all I will say about that. James is a dominate personality type, but he’s also a good guy. I don’t think he would ever do anything to hurt Bianca, although their are a couple misunderstandings along the way (but hey isn’t that how most relationships start out). I liked the two of them together, I think they make a good couple, and the two of them both kind of evolve together which I enjoyed. I have to say what I really liked about James was that while he was a bit on the dominate side, he wasn’t like creepy controlling, although I don’t know how I felt about the whole having security follow Bianca on her flights, but hey his money I guess.
Overall I thought this book was a solid opening to the series, and I enjoyed reading. There were some hot and heavy steamy scenes that were fun to read. But I think my favorite parts of this book all involve the friendship between Stephan and Bianca, that’s what really pulled me into the book. If you are looking for a rich, dominant hero then this is definitely a book you should check out.
