When Mia Corelli returns to Alabama for a summer of fun with her childhood best friend, Tessa, there's only one thing keeping her on edge. One person that she’d do anything to avoid.

Benjamin Kelly. World’s biggest dickhead.

Mia hates him with a fury and has no desire to ever see him again. When she decides to start her summer off with a bang and finally give away her v-card, she unknowingly hands it over to the one guy that excelled at making her life miserable, learning a valuable lesson in the process.

Always get the name of the guy you’re going home with.

Ben can’t get the girl he spent one night with out of his head. When she leaves him the next morning, he thinks he’ll never see her again. Until he sees her lounging by the pool with his sister.

Mia is determined to hate Ben, even though she can’t forget him.

Ben is determined to prove he’s not the same guy he used to be.

What happens when the one person you wish never existed becomes the one person you can’t imagine being without?

I loved reading J. Daniels book Sweet Addiction, so when I saw this book I knew I had to get it. This book has a different feel from Sweet Addiction, since it’s much more of a new adult book than an adult book, so the tone is different, but the writing style is very similar and I enjoyed reading it. I happen to love books where the hero and heroine don’t exactly get along in the beginning, or where they have a past that wasn’t a good one, and that is so the case here.

Mia is coming back to her hometown for the summer, and she is super excited to be spending time with her best friends from years ago. Only her best friend has an older brother who really made her life miserable when she was a kid, and she really doesn’t want to see Ben again. But of course life has a way of making things we don’t want to happen, happen. Her first night in town she ends up hooking up with Ben, without even realizing it is Ben. Needless to say when they run into each other after their night together, things definitely get interesting really quickly.

I loved the whole push and pull of Mia and Ben, Ben is totally enamored with her and Mia has a hard time letting go of the past. But then of course it turns out the boy Mia used to know has grown into a really decent guy who has a kid (Nolan). A super cute kid too. And he’s a great dad to this boy. So it’s really easy to see how Mia would start to really fall for Ben. I really was pulling for these two to come out on the other end of the book together, I loved both characters.

One of the things I like about Daniels’ work is her cast of secondary characters are always a good read. Tessa (Ben’s sister) and Luke (Ben’s cop partner) have an interesting dynamic/relationship throughout the book and they make the book just as interesting to read. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I am looking forward to the second book. If you are looking for a new adult book I would recommend you take a look at this book, cause it’s definitely a fun and good read.
